| For the week ending October 21 on Nielsen BookScan, the overall bestsellers chart looked very different than the prior week: four of the top 10 titles were debuts. The new books were The Panther by Nelson DeMille, The Bone Bed by Patricia Cornwell, The Twelve by Justin Cronin, and Hidden by P.C. Cast. more » Sales at Bloomsbury Publishing rose 2.5% in the six month period ended August 31, to £43.5 million, but pretax profits fell to £0.9 million from £1.5 million. Bloomsbury said shifts in its product mix that now has more emphasis on the academic and e-book markets is making the second half of the year more important than the first six months. E-book sales across all divisions rose 89% in the year to £4.5 million. more » Brain Hive, a pay-as-you-go e-book lending service for K-12 school libraries that launched in August, is adding new publishers' titles to its e-books lending library collection. Distribution: Midpoint Signs Bunker Hill Midpoint Trade Books has signed a distribution deal with Bunker Hill Publishing, a New Hampshire-based independent publisher.
