| Smooth Sailing for the 2012 SCIBA Authors Feast and Trade Show Aboard the Queen Mary SCIBA is the final regional show of the year, with ABA's Oren Teicher on hand to promote the imminent launch of Kobo's Glo and Mini reading devices to be sold in indies. The local bookselling community was out in force for the show, which included a sold-out Authors Lunch with novelists Amity Gaige and Attica Locke, pop-up book creator Matthew Reinhart, YA author Adam Gidwitz, and Daniel Handler filling in for Lemony Snicket. more » Drivers will soon be able to listen to streaming on-demand audiobooks in their vehicles thanks to a new partnership between Aha by Harman, the provider of audio and infotainment products, and Podiobooks.com, which has a large collection of free serialized online audiobooks. Aha has plans to offer the service to other audiobook publishers. more » ADVERTISEMENT 'Publishers Weekly' to Add Canadian Adult Reviews Publishers Weekly is adding reviews of Canadian adult books to its weekly prepublication review coverage of U.S. titles. PW will review approximately 20 titles a month that originate with Canadian houses. Guidelines for Canadian reviews are the same as they are for U.S. reviews in that we need two galleys three to four months ahead of the title's publication date. Fourth Self-Publishing Book Expo Set for October 27 The fourth Self-Publishing Book Expo is set for October 27 at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City.
