Had Modest 2012 Gains A 1% increase in sales in its manufacturing segment offset a 6% decline in its publishing group resulting in total revenue for the fiscal year ended September 29 inching up to $261.3 million from $259.4 million in fiscal 2011 at Courier Corp. Cartoonist Larry Marder, creator of the Beanworld comic, has been reelected president of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a nonprofit First Amendment watchdog organization protecting the interests of comics creators, retailers, librarians and fans. In addition, longtime treasurer Milton Griepp, CEO of pop culture trade news site ICv2.com, was elected CBLDF vice-president and Jeff Abraham, president of Random House Publisher Services, was elected treasurer. more » » Milt Adams, a pioneer in DIY publishing and the founding publisher of Beavers Pond Press died Sunday in the Twin Cities. He was 84 years old. powerHouse Arena in Dumbo held a fundraising event on November 17 to recoup damages suffered in Hurricane Sandy.
