British Historian Sir Max Hastings was presented with the 2012 Pritzker Military Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing at the Library's annual Liberty Gala at the Hilton Chicago on October 27. The $100,000 honorarium, citation and medallion is sponsored by the Chicago-based Tawani Foundation. RH Postpones Open House Random House has postponed its consumer open house. The one-day event, for readers eager to meet the house's authors, was scheduled for November, 2. Now, the publisher said, because of Hurricane Sandy, the event is being bumped to December 14. RH said that consumers who bought a ticket for the event--the house expected roughly 200 readers at its New York City office--can also receive a refund by contacting pr@randomhouse.com. more » Abingdon Press has signed with Ingram to handle its sales and distribution.
