| The National Book Critics Circle Awards for the publishing year 2012 went to Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk by Ben Fountain (fiction), Far from the Tree by Andrew Solomon (nonfiction), The Passage of Power: The Years of Lyndon Johnson by Robert A. Caro (biography), Swimming Studies by Leanne Shapton (autobiography), Stranger Magic by Marina Warner (criticism), and Useless Landscape, or A Guide for Boys by D.A. Powell (poetry).
