| Battle Lines Drawn in HarperCollins, Open Road E-Book Suit After more than a year since the case was first filed, cross-motions for Summary Judgment were finally submitted last week in HarperCollins' lawsuit against Open Road over the e-book publisher's e-book edition of Julie of the Wolves, Jean Craighead George's bestselling children's book. more » On Tuesday night, hundreds of children's book publishers and other Bologna Children's Book Fair attendees filled the Teatro Comunale, Bologna's opera house, for a grand anniversary gala and awards ceremony to celebrate the fair's 50th anniversary. Graywolf Lures Away McSweeney's Editorial Director Ethan Nosowsky, McSweeney's editorial director since late 2011, will return to Graywolf Press on April 15 as editorial director there. Last week at a middle school in south Florida, James Patterson and Dwyane Wade did a webcast for students and teachers that will air on April 25 at 1pm ET, with the goal of inspiring kids to read. (The webcast can be accessed at www.jamespattersonevents.com.) Then, on March 27, for every point Wade scores against the Chicago Bulls, James and HBGUSA will donate 1,000 copies of his kids books to the Miami School System. |
