| Profits Up at Lagardere Publishing, But Slip at HBG Earnings before interest and taxes rose slightly in 2012 at Lagardere Publishing, from 221 million euros to 223 million euros, the company's parent company Lagardere said Thursday afternoon. Profits in Lagardere's U.S. subsidiary, Hachette Book Group, fell in the year, due to what Lagardere said was lower sales and the impact of e-book price fixing settlements. Bestselling author Max Lucado (l.) introduced his new book, You'll Get Through This, at Nashville's Loveless Barn on Monday night during the launch event for the book, coming out September 10. The event, hosted by the newly formed HarperCollins Christian Publishing, featured a sermon by Lucado as well as music from country music singer Jimmy Wayne. Wayne is a contributor to a Zondervan product, Country Faith. |
