| Barnes & Noble is phasing out its PubIt! self-publishing service and relaunching it as Nook Press, an upgraded e-book self-publishing platform offering an array of new services to authors and publishers. B&N is partnering with Fast Pencil to supply Nook Press with its proprietary online authoring technology, while also offering Fast Pencil authors access to a variety of marketing opportunities via B&N's Nook platform. more » Sam Tanenhaus is leaving his post as editor of the New York Times Book Review. As Romenesko.com reported, Tanenhaus, who is stepping down to become a writer-at-large, is being replaced by Pamela Paul. She was 74 years old. Abel launched her career in book marketing and management with the American Booksellers Association and held positions with a number of publishers. Campbell Associates has announced they are now scouting adult books for Znak in Poland and working with Modan in Israel for both their adult and children’s lists.
