| Senate Votes to Bring Marketplace Fairness Act to the Floor Following last month's Senate vote of 75-24 to attach the Marketplace Fairness Act amendment to the FY 2014 Budget Resolution, the Senate is continuing to push forward with online sales tax legislation. Last night the Senate voted 74-20 to bring the Marketplace Fairness Act to the floor for debate. more » Books, along with video, remained the largest product category at Hastings Entertainment in 2012, but with total sales at the retailer falling about 7% in the year, book sales fell by a like amount, dropping to approximately $101 million. Books and video, each accounted for 22% of Hastings' sales last year, the retailer reported in its 10-K filing. more » Knopf has acquired an authorized biography of Margaret Thatcher by British journalist Charles Moore. The book, which in the U.S. will be called Margaret Thatcher: From Grantham to the Falklands, was published in the U.K., today, by Allen Lane. The first book in the deal, not yet titled and set for spring 2014, will offer a 21-day guide to transitioning to whole-food, plant-based diet. Author Michael Lewis helped to kick off World Book Night Monday evening with an appearance at Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore.
