S&S Lands New Book By Hillary Clinton
Carolyn Reidy at Simon & Schuster bought world rights to a currently untitled book by Hillary Rodham Clinton which will cover the former Secretary of State's time in office. The book, which Robert Barnett sold, will, S&S said highlight Clinton's "key decisions and experiences as Secretary of State," as well as "her ideas for how the United States can address the challenges of a dramatically changing world in the 21st century;" it will be edited by Jonathan Karp and is scheduled for 2014. more »
Struggling Indie SF Press, Night Shade, Pushes Asset Sale
After several years of financial struggles, the science fiction and fantasy publisher Night Shade Books is preparing to sell its assets to Skyhorse Publishing and Start Publishing. That is, if its authors will sign off on the deal. more »

HC Canada Buys Some Wiley Canada Titles
After selling a large group of titles to Turner Publishing yesterday, John Wiley's Wiley Canada division has sold selected consumer titles to HarperCollins Canada. Among the nonfiction titles included in the deal are the Mother of All series by Ann Douglas, some hockey books and several cookbooks. more »

Schlosser Named Executive Chairman of McGraw-Hill Education
Ron Schlosser has been appointed executive chairman of McGraw-Hill Education's board of directors. Schlosser is a senior advisor to Apollo Global Management, which bought MHE last month. Prior to joining Apollo, Schlosser held senior executive positions with a number of educational publishers including Haights Cross Communications, Thomson Learning Group (now Cengage Learning), Elsevier Science and MHE. more » »
