| The PW Bookstore of the Year Award goes to Square Books on the historic town square of Oxford, Miss., the center of the fictional Yoknapatawpha County in William Faulkner's novels. Founded by Richard and Lisa Howorth in 1979, the store has grown into a trio of store fronts over the past three decades. Bruce Joshua Miller of Miller Trade Book Marketing, who led the fight to save the University of Missouri Press last May was selected as the Rep of the Year. more » As announced in January, this year, for the first time since the 1970s, National Book Award judging panels will include not only writers but other literary experts. more » Both U.S. attorneys and the states have now asked judge Denise Cote to deny Penguin's request for a jury trial in its upcoming e-book price-fixing trial. In filings last week, attorneys argued that Penguin did in fact waive its right to a jury trial in earlier proceedings. more » Oscar season is over, which means one thing: it's on to the summer blockbusters. And one of the most anticipated summer movies is World War Z, starring Brad Pitt. The bestseller-turned-action-movie doesn't come out until June 13, but people can't wait. Flanagan Moves to APG Martin Flanagan has moved from Ideals Publications, a division of Guideposts, after 26 years as president and v-p of sales, and has joined APG sales & distribution located in Nashville, Tenn. as their executive v-p.
